Eligibility and Requirements of Tutors:

1. •Tutors must be a Singaporean/ a Singapore Permanent Resident
   

2. •Tutors must possess at least a full GCE “O” Level certificate or equivalent and above to be eligible to teach.
   

3. •Tutors are to be honest in their disclosure of grades and personal information. This is to facilitate the allocation of assignments and more importantly to ensure accuracy in the information offered to student/parents in return for an offer for tuition services.
   

4. •Tutors should be competent and knowledgeable in the subjects that they commit to teach. This would require them to have excellent grades in these subject areas.
   

5. •Tutors must be certain that his/her schedule can accommodate tuition assignment before committing to undertake the assignment. Moreover, the location must be convenient before the tutor accepts the assignment.
   

6. •Tutors must be certain that he/she is satisfied with the offered tuition rate before committing to undertake the assignment. Tutors are not supposed to negotiate the tuition rate with Varsity Mentor or the student/parent upon acceptance of the assignment.
   

7. •Upon request by Varsity Mentor, tutors should produce their relevant certificates and identifications for verifications.
   

Due Diligence of Tutors:

1. •Tutors should be punctual for their lessons. It is courteous of the tutor to inform the parent/student if he/she is late.
   

2. •Tutors should inform students of any changes in the date/time of lessons in advance.
   

3. •Tutors must present their original certificates of examination to the student/parent at the first lesson. Tutors are to present their recognized teaching qualifications to the student/parent at the first lesson if he/she is a school teacher or ex-school teacher.
   

4. •If the lesson time is up and tutor is still going through a topic with the student, tutor should spend a few minutes to wrap the lesson up. Tutors should not end the lesson abruptly.
   

Assignment Commission:

1. •With every successful assignment, a one-time commission of 50% of the first month tuition fee will be made payable to Varsity Mentor account by the student after the second week of lesson. Tutors will receive the remaining 50% of the first month fee on the fourth tuition lesson. For subsequent months, tutors will keep the full tuition fees.
   

2. •The commission is in return for the assignment and administrative services provided by Varsity Mentor
   

3. •In the event that lessons are unavoidably and understandably missed, commission will only be collected on the second week of lesson taught rather than after two weeks have passed.
   

4. •Tutors are held responsible for fulfilling the first month of lesson upon acceptance and are not supposed to find another tutor to replace him/her on his/her own accord.
   

5. •Tutors are not supposed to negotiate the tuition rate with Varsity Mentor or the student/parent upon acceptance of the assignment.
   

6. •*Any attempt to cheat or deprive Varsity Mentor of her legal share of commission will result in legal actions being taken.
   

Limited Liability of Varsity Mentor:

1. •Owners and employees of Varsity Mentor will not be liable for any damages, including indirect, special, or consequential damages.
   

2. •Once the student/parent has settled the payment of commission with Varsity Mentor, any dispute and disagreement over the tuition rates will not be entertained.
   

Termination of Assignment:

1. •Tutors are held responsible for fulfilling the first month of lesson upon acceptance and are not supposed to find another tutor to replace him/her on his/her own accord.
   

2. •For the first month of lessons, if the tutor is unable to attend the lesson, he/she must inform the student and Varsity Mentor. Failure to inform the student and Varsity Mentor as well as the failure to provide a valid reason for absence is unacceptable. In the event that the assignment is terminated as a result, the commission of 50% of the first month tuition fee will be imposed.
   

3. •The minimum commitment period is 1 month. In the event where tutors terminate an assignment within the first month, Varsity Mentor will recover her legal share of commission of 50% of the first month tuition fee from the tutors.
   

4. •In the event that the tuition assignment is terminated by the student/parent during the first two weeks of lessons, tutors will not receive any salary.
   

5. •In the event that the student/parent terminates the assignment before 4 weeks of lessons are completed, and contacts the tutors personally, tutors are still liable for 50% commission of the agreed first month worth of tuition fee. When such situation arises, tutors are obligated to notify Varsity Mentor immediately. Any attempt to keep it from us is considered cheating.
